Pattex PL200 – High-Performance Polymer Construction Adhesive

Pattex PL200 – High-Performance Polymer Construction Adhesive

KSh 1.00

Key Features & Benefits

  • Multi-substrate compatibility: Bonds to a wide range of materials, including brick, concrete, wood, stone, PVC, glass, metal, and mirrors (excluding PE, PP, PTFE, acrylic glass, plasticized PVC, etc.).

  • Can be applied on damp/wet surfaces: Suitable for use even when surfaces are slightly wet.

  • Water-resistant and weather-resistant: Once cured, the adhesive withstands weathering and ageing.

  • Flexible bond: Thanks to FlexTec polymer technology, it remains elastic to absorb vibrations and movement.

  • High temperature resistance: From –30 °C up to +80 °C (short-term exposure to +100 °C).

  • Over-paintable & sandable: Can be painted over and sanded after curing, allowing for a clean finish.

  • Neutral odor: Low odor, since it’s solvent-free.

  • Low shrinkage: Maintains a stable bond without significant shrinkage.

Overview
Pattex PL200 is a professional-grade, silane-curing (FlexTec) polymer-based construction adhesive designed for both interior and exterior applications. It offers very high initial tack (up to 50 kg/m²) for instant bonding.

Technical Data

  • Density: Approx. 1.03 g/cm³.

  • Open (working) time: ~15 minutes at 23 °C.

  • Final bond strength: ~3.0 N/mm² (shear strength, wood/wood).

  • Gap-bridging capacity: Up to 20 mm.

  • Curing speed: ~2 mm of adhesive cures per 24 hours (at 23 °C & 50% RH, bead ~20×10 mm).

  • Shelf life: 15 months if stored correctly (cool, dry, protected from frost).

Applications

  • Bonding decorative elements: skirting boards, trims, moldings, and panels.

  • Structural fixings: heavy fixtures, natural stone, profiles, and large panels.

  • Sealing and bonding in damp environments, where surfaces may not be completely dry.

  • Ductwork, concrete, and plasterboard applications.

How to Use

  1. Prepare surfaces: ensure they are stable, clean (dust- and grease-free), and not in permanent contact with water.

  2. Cut cartridge tip, screw on nozzle, and apply adhesive in beads or spots.

  3. Press surfaces together within ~15 minutes while the adhesive is still humid. For heavy or tensioned parts, support them for at least 24 hours.

  4. Remove excess immediately with a cloth soaked in acetone.

  5. Allow full cure before subjecting the bond to stress (final strength in ~48 hours for standard bead sizes).

Storage & Safety

  • Store in original packaging, in a cool, dry place, protected from frost.

  • Keep away from direct sunlight, sparks, and open flame.

Limitations / Notes

  • Not suitable for bonding PE, PP, PTFE, acrylic glass (PMMA), or plasticized PVC.

  • For coated or painted surfaces, pre-testing is recommended to ensure compatibility.

  • Not designed for permanent underwater immersion
