Duracoat Internal & External Skim Coat

Duracoat Internal & External Skim Coat is a premium, water-resistant, white cement-based putty designed to provide a strong, smooth, and durable base on interior and exterior walls and ceilings. It effectively fills pores and irregularities, creating a clean, white, and even surface ready for painting, while preventing flaking and ensuring the longevity of topcoats. Enriched with special polymers for enhanced adhesive strength, it can be applied on freshly plastered surfaces, saving time and improving bonding. Its eco-friendly formulation contains no lead, oils, or toxic materials, making it safe for indoor and outdoor use.

Before application, surfaces must be cleaned, dust-free, and moistened to ensure maximum adhesion and easy workability. The skim coat is mixed with 40–45% clean water to form a uniform paste, preferably using a mechanical mixer for consistency. Application involves two coats, each allowed to dry sufficiently—4–6 hours for the first coat and 10–12 hours for the second—followed by gentle leveling with a wet sponge or putty blade to remove loose particles. For minor unevenness, very fine waterproof emery paper can be used without compromising water resistance. The total thickness of the applied coats should not exceed 2mm to maintain optimal performance and prevent flaking or efflorescence.
