Contact Adhesive (CONTA)

Contact Adhesive is a high-tack, one-part polychloroprene (neoprene) contact cement designed for bonding a wide range of materials. It forms a strong, flexible, and heat-resistant bond that’s ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications

Typical Applications

• Decorative laminates and veneer for furniture

• Edge-banding on countertops

• Bonding rubber, cork, leather, or felt to various substrates,

• Installing acoustic, insulation, or soundproofing panels,

• Adhesion of PVC, metal, or rigid plastics, where a flexible but strong bond is needed

How to Use

1. Surface Preparation: Make sure both surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, or grease.

2. Application: Use a spatula or short-bristle brush to apply a thin, uniform layer to both surfaces.

3. Drying Time: Allow the adhesive to dry for about 10–15 minutes at room temperature before joining.

4. Bonding: Carefully align and press the two surfaces firmly together. Because it’s contact adhesive, the bond is instant — there’s no working time once they touch.

5. Excess Cleanup: Remove any excess adhesive with a solvent like acetone or benzine.

6. Curing: Full bond strength develops over 24 hours.

Storage & Safety

• Store in a cool, dry place — preferably between 10 °C and 25 °C.

• The adhesive is flammable and gives off solvent vapors, so work in a well-ventilated area and avoid open flames.

• Wear gloves and eye protection during use.
